## Variable Expansion

In some cases you may wish a string to be templated. For example in a share, mount/
PATH/USERNAME. You may do that with string substitution. Variables may be expanded
in the format of ${VARIABLE}.

The following variables are supported:

 * AGILICUS_USER_FULL_NAME
 * AGILICUS_USER_FIRST_NAME
 * AGILICUS_USER_LAST_NAME
 * AGILICUS_USER_EXTERNAL_ID
 * AGILICUS_USER_EMAIL
 * AGILICUS_USER_EMAIL_NAME
 * AGILICUS_USER_EMAIL_DOMAIN

Variables may be expanded in Desktops, Shares, Launchers.

## Expansion Syntax

In addition to exact match substitution, you may use [bash-syntax](https://www.gnu.org/software/bash/manual/html_node/Shell-Parameter-Expansion.html)
to do sub-string expansion.

Examples include:

 * `${parameter:offset}` – expand from offset to end
 * `${parameter:offset:length}` – expand from offset for length characters
 * **${#**parameter**}** — expand to the length in characters

See the bash [guide](https://www.gnu.org/software/bash/manual/html_node/Shell-Parameter-Expansion.html)
for more information
