[CONTACT](/contact-us/)

The **Billing** page (route `/billing`) is where you manage the commercial side of your Agilicus AnyX subscription: the billing contact, the subscription itself, payment information, and the usage metrics that drive the invoice.

![Billing overview](https://www.agilicus.com/www/3e2f8e7f-billing-overview.png) ## Purpose

Billing combines the subscription controls and the usage picture in one place:

- the **contact email** where invoices are sent;
- **START SUBSCRIPTION** and **VIEW/UPDATE PAYMENT INFORMATION**, which manage the subscription and the payment method;
- **DOWNLOAD SUBSCRIPTIONS**, which exports the subscription details as a CSV file; and
- the **Usage Metrics** table, which shows your active and provisioned usage per resource type.

See [Billing and subscriptions](/anyx-guide/agilicus-anyx-administrative-web-interface/concepts/billing-and-subscriptions/) for the underlying concepts.

## Why use it

- Set up payment so the subscription can be billed.
- Update the payment method (a credit card; only the brand and last four digits are ever shown).
- Confirm who receives email notice of invoices.
- Review subscription information such as start date, trial status, payment status, currency, and balances.
- Review usage against your plan's capacity (see [Usage metrics](https://www.agilicus.com/product-guide/usage-metrics)).
- Download a CSV of subscription information for your records.

## When to use it

- During onboarding, as part of the [Setup payment](/anyx-guide/agilicus-anyx-administrative-web-interface/getting-started/setup-payment/) task.
- When the payment card expires or the billing contact changes.
- Before a billing period ends, to review expected charges.
- When you need to plan capacity against your plan limits.

**Prerequisite**: viewing billing requires read permission; starting a subscription or updating payment requires owner permission and an existing subscription. If you do not have permission the buttons are disabled with an explanatory tooltip.

## How to use it

1. Open **Organisation > Billing** from the left navigation.
2. Review the **Contact email** (read-only; it is set from the billing account).
3. If a subscription already exists (for example a trial) but no payment method is on file, the page shows **START SUBSCRIPTION**. With owner permission, select it to open the payment dialog and start the subscription.
4. Under **Subscription Information**, select **VIEW/UPDATE PAYMENT INFORMATION** to set up or change the payment method and invoice contact. (This button is disabled until an active subscription exists.)
5. Select **DOWNLOAD SUBSCRIPTIONS** to export the subscription data as `subscriptions_data.csv`.
6. Review the **Usage Metrics** table at the bottom of the page to see what is being counted toward the invoice.

## Fields and controls reference

| Field or control | Purpose | Required | Default | Valid values | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Contact email | The email address where invoices are sent | Yes | Sign-up contact | A valid email address | Read-only on this page; managed through the payment flow |
| START SUBSCRIPTION | Starts the subscription and opens the payment dialog | n/a | n/a | n/a | Enabled only with owner permission, an existing subscription, and no payment method on file |
| VIEW/UPDATE PAYMENT INFORMATION | Sets up or changes the payment method and invoice contact | n/a | n/a | n/a | Label is *VIEW/UPDATE PAYMENT INFORMATION* once a subscription exists |
| DOWNLOAD SUBSCRIPTIONS | Exports subscription details to a CSV file | n/a | n/a | n/a | Produces `subscriptions_data.csv` |
| Usage Metrics table | Active and provisioned usage per resource type | n/a | n/a | n/a | Read-only |

### Usage Metrics table

| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Type | The resource or entitlement type (users, shares, applications, networks, service forwarders, desktops, SSH, resources, agent, connector) |
| Active | The count currently in use |
| Provisioned | The count provisioned on your plan |

In this guide's example the organisation shows a handful of users, groups, resources, connectors, and sub-organisations. Exact counts vary as the organisation changes; the [Resources overview](/anyx-guide/agilicus-anyx-administrative-web-interface/resources/overview/) lists current totals by type.

## Dialogs and popups

### Payment dialog

The payment flow opens a dialog (the *payment dialog*) that explains the subscription setup and offers to set or modify the payment subscription. It is also used to confirm the invoice contact. The actual card entry happens in a secure Stripe-hosted form embedded in the checkout dialog, so the full card number is never shown in the portal.

The payment and checkout dialogs only open when a subscription exists and you have owner permission. In a brand-new organisation with no subscription, **START SUBSCRIPTION** and **VIEW/UPDATE PAYMENT INFORMATION** are disabled, and the tooltip explains why.

### Demo environment note

In a demo or trial organisation that has not started a subscription, the subscription buttons appear disabled. This is expected: the payment dialogs only appear once a subscription exists.

## Configuration versus diagnostics versus confirmation

- **Configuration**: the payment method and invoice contact are set through the payment flow; the subscription information is stored on your billing account.
- **Diagnostics**: the usage metrics table and subscription balance, dates, and payment status are read-only views.
- **Confirmation**: starting a subscription or updating the payment method is a confirmed action through the payment dialog; the card details are entered in the Stripe-hosted checkout form.

## Pagination and async behaviour

- The Usage Metrics table pages at 25 rows per page.
- Subscription and payment changes are asynchronous: after the payment flow completes, wait a few seconds and reload the page to confirm. The billing account data refreshes automatically (for example, the **START SUBSCRIPTION** button disappears once a payment method is on file, and the delete button on the [Organisation overview](/anyx-guide/agilicus-anyx-administrative-web-interface/organisation/overview/) greys out once deletion is scheduled).

## Troubleshooting

- **The payment buttons are disabled**: no active subscription exists, or your account lacks owner permission. Hover over the button for the reason.
- **I cannot find the full card number**: it is never displayed. Only the brand and last four digits are stored or shown. To change the card, use the payment flow.
- **The invoices go to the wrong address**: update the billing contact in the payment flow (see [How may I set who receives email notice of an invoice?](https://www.agilicus.com/how-may-i-set-who-receives-email-notice-of-an-invoice)).
- **Usage looks higher than expected**: review the active versus provisioned counts per type and compare with your plan limits (see [Pricing](https://www.agilicus.com/pricing)).
