The third setup task defines what you are going to expose. A zero trust architecture provides access to **individual resources** for **individual users**. Earlier you connected your site with a connector; now you tell the platform which resources exist.

You define each resource the platform will protect and serve: its name, its address, and the connector it is reached through. Once defined, the resource can have permissions and policies applied.

## Resource types

The guide asks what kind of resource you want to expose:

- **A website accessed by a browser** → create an **application**.
- **A network resource such as an SQL database** → create a **network** (or a database resource).
- **A legacy application which uses a desktop client** → create a **launcher** or a **network** resource the launcher can reach.
- **A desktop for remote access** → create a **desktop** resource.
- **Files** → create a **share**.
- **Something else** → the guide recommends the closest resource type.

## How to do it

1. Open **Getting Started > Expose Resource** from the left navigation.
2. Choose the type of resource you want to expose.
3. The guide recommends which resource type to create and shows a picture of the screen to use.
4. Open the matching creation wizard under **Resources**:

1. Complete the wizard: choose the connector, name the resource, give its address, configure advanced options, review, and apply.
2. Verify the resource appears in its overview page.
3. Mark **Expose Resource** complete on the task board.

## After you finish

Your resources are defined but not yet accessible to anyone. The next task, [Assign permissions](/anyx-guide/agilicus-anyx-administrative-web-interface/getting-started/assign-permissions/), grants users and groups access.

## Configuration versus confirmation

- **Configuration**: the creation wizard steps (connector, name, address, advanced options).
- **Confirmation**: the summary step before **Apply**. Review the values, because after applying, changing details is done by editing the resource.
- The **Done** step confirms the resource was created and offers to add it to resource groups, assign permissions, or add it to policies immediately.

## Troubleshooting

- The resource is created but users cannot reach it: confirm the connector is healthy, the address and ports are correct, and permissions are assigned.
